ARTESANÍA - DOCUMENTARY

What is it about? The preciousness of the Uruguayan sustainable artisanal wool techniques and its importance to empower women. 

 

Showcase the sustainability of the process maintained by small Uruguayan producers, designers, and artisans and highlight the positive impacts of wool-related artisan processes, both economically and socially and culturally.

 

The video features filming of the artisan processes with wool, such as natural dyeing and eco printing, the countryside, and the sheep with a marked country identity from its topography, colours, and silences.


Interviewees: Maribel Mendez, from Manos del Uruguay organization and Ludmila Magdalena, from LAM Arte Textil. Both show the social importance of artisan processes, especially for women, offering opportunities for economic income and personal development, and financial independence.
